Challenge

Tefal and Krups - leaders among manufacturers of household goods, devices and tools commonly used in bathrooms and kitchens. Among others, their offer includes electric grills, irons, coffee makers, sets of pots and pans, as well as vacuum cleaners, blenders, and many more.

Tefal24.pl and krups24.pl online stores, built on the basis of the Magento 2 framework (backend) and PWA - Progressive Web Apps (frontend), use very advanced promotion mechanisms, and the CMS panel used to edit the content is shared between both stores.

The used PWA had a very negative impact on the website's SEO, and the conflict with Magento 2 caused many performance and functional problems, which led, among others, to interruptions in the purchasing process.

Solution

We decided to take full advantage of Magento 2’s capabilities.

After removing a part of the code created with the use of PWA, we prepared a frontend part in its place, based on Magento 2. We tried to use as many built-in functionalities of the system as possible.

All data regarding products, orders, and customer accounts have been preserved. Our activities translated directly into the efficiency and stability of both stores, which was soon confirmed by statistical data.
